Beatrice wears an XS (Long), Navy in this dress. She is 5'8" and wears a size 2/4 in dresses.

Kristin wears an XS (Long), Black in this dress. She is 5'8" and wears a size 2/4 in dresses.

Wren wears a 1X, Regular in this dress. She is 5'10" and wears a size 16/18 in dresses.

Sizing Notes: This dress comes in 2 lengths. The long length is 2.5" longer than regular. We recommend the long length for women above 5'8" and taller. Too long? Don't forget our Alterations Credit.

I've only worn this dress once, but it was so comfy that I didn't want to take it off. That's quite a tall order for work clothes! I have worn the Essential Top a lot so I was so curious to try the Essential Dress. I got it in my Essential Top size, long length. I wore it on one of the hottest days of the summer so far and I was so cool and comfortable while also feeling appropriately covered for work! The fabric falls slightly boxy, so just be prepared for that. It's a feature, not a bug.

Love the pockets and the length. The V-neck was a little low for me, but if it was higher it may be a bit matronly. Very comfy.

I'm pear-shaped so dresses can be tough for me but this dress is very flattering and comfortable! I've been wearing it a lot since it arrived and wish I had it in a few more colors.

Navy dresses are notoriously hard to find. Either the color is wrong, or the fit is too rigid, or it lacks pizzaz. This dress hits all the notes. I grabbed the longer version and it fits perfectly and moves well. The best detail, however, is the one you can’t see in the photos: the stitching around the pockets. It adds just enough texture and visual interest to break up this dress. I’ve got a very shallow chest, so I imagine I’ll be covering the low-ish v-neck some days, but other gals who fill out tops may not have to consider that.

I now have two, in different colors and sizes depending on my mood. They travel so well, and can be dressed up or down.

I ended up buying this dress in both colors because it's super comfortable for work but also stylish enough that it doesn't look like you're wearing a nightgown. I will say that it was tough to iron / get the wrinkles out at first; I almost sent it back but am glad I didn't. I would recommend ironing with steam; that solved the problem for me.

Love it! I want it in more colors please?!! I’m thinking about ordering it in Navy but I wish it were in Red - a true blue red!!!

I’ve come to a point in my life where I only want quality pieces of clothing in my closet. This dress fits the bill of everything I had been looking for in a dress. The fabric is amazing and I feel so put together when I’m wearing it. Purchased in black and mineral and will definitely be ordering the navy.

i was hoping for a nice ponte dress that i could (mostly) wear at work and maybe the occasional going-out wear.

This dress exceeded my expectations. The fabric is much nicer than ponte but is also somewhat seasonless. It stayed cool when it was hot but was not flimsy at all. I'll be buying more from Brass
